Forming the Werkplatz together with the forum and the Schaulager the canteen sits with its back to an embankment wall . It forms the node between the old school building (Schulhaus Hard) and the new extensions by using the existing kitchen and bringing it towards the street. It’s also the point where the surrounding landscapes meet: the lushly overgrown school park meets the square, the road meets the commons and in the distance apprentices and DIYers meet in the Werkhof.
